Wittman, AZ. H&S Performance took home first place in the Pro Street class last weekend at the NHRDA event at the Speedworld Drag Strip, with Payton Hugie behind the wheel of their 2008 Dodge 6.7L diesel.
"We still have a lot of tweaking and tuning left to do on the truck, so our track times were definitely not as fast as we would have liked", said Hugie. "Even though we didn't put down the fastest run of the day in Pro Street(11.7 @ 122 mph), we feel there is a lot left in our truck, and we should be much faster next time out. We feel bad for everyone else that had mechanical problems, a few of them put down some very fast times. We really appreciate all the other teams welcoming us to the circuit, and look forward to competing against them again soon."
Fastest runs of the day were Bully Dog with a blazing 9.8 second pass, then Wide Open Performance and Max'd Out both clocking a 10.1. There was a huge spectator turnout at this year's event, as the Speed World Drag Strip was the perfect place to watch some great racing and enjoy the warm Arizona weather.
